The Welfare and Educational Society, through its School, Asha Bhavan and Vocational Training Centre, has been called to a costly commitment of over Rs.30 lakhs per annum to keep it going, fully utilising the facilities gifted to it.

A quick glance at the figures:

  • Rs. 15 lakhs is needed every year for the Opportunity School to function to its full capacity with an intake of 60 children and 8 staff members.
  • Rs. 16.5 lakhs is the budgetary requirement of Asha Bhavan for a full occupancy of 15 children and 5 staff - approximately Rs. 3,000 per child per month.
  • Rs. 3 lakhs is needed to cater to the training materials and staff requirements at the Vocational Training Centre, which can train and rehabilitate about 20 children per year, approximately Rs.1250 per child per month.
